Symphony in Peril was formed in Columbus, OH in 2002.
POWERFUL CHAOTIC METAL CORE: Led by ex-Zao vocalist Shawn Jonas, Symphony in Peril dish out a stunning set of blistering metal infused hardcore. Lost Memoirs and Faded Pictures makes for an excellent debut bu a tight knit group of musicians that take the chaotic fury of calculated aggression and fused it neatly with the intensity of metal core to form a hybrid that takes on a shape all its own. Opening with the blaring “Shadow Over a Bleeding Heart,” Symphony in Peril unleash what can only be described as unsettling madness followed by Jona’s vocal screams. Each track that follows maintains the frenzied nature of viciously aggressive guitars accented by hardcore breakdowns and tormented guttural screams. A unique quality that stands out is the use of non-traditional guitar leads and solos scattered about the songs. At first they give the impression that these guitarists intermingle 70’s and 80’s style metal solos amongst the madness just for the sake of flaunting their craft. But after further listens. one comes to the conclusion that these are just well placed guitar licks meant to complete the unsettling effect of their powerful blend of hardcore and metal. Neverthless, Symphony in Peril has entered the building, and they mean to shake it all the way down to the ground.
The band announced via their Myspace blog that the band would break up after their few final performances on last November.
